Anemia Hemólitica Autoinmune
The Anemia Hemólitica Autoinmune is developed when the immunological system of an animal begins to attack its own eritrocitos.
It is a disease quite common in many animal species, and can be risky for the life, because it can derive in a severe pathology for that reason it is important to diagnose it accurately to begin as rapidly as possible the suitable treatment.
Until now, the test of diagnosis available for AHA was the test of the Coomb that was not very exact in the dogs; many animals that suffered the disease gave negative to the test.
Recently, in the Veterinary Medicine University of the State of Kansas it developed a new test that will accurately identify the affected dogs.
The test is not commercially available; the blood samples must be sent taken from the suspicious animal from AHA to the specialized laboratory of the University.
Commentaries:
The availability of this exact test, will help the diagnosis of this disease enormously that can be confused with other anemias produced by ehrlichiosis, Haemobartonella and Babesia, also by certain drugs and toxins.
